Verlaufen spielen / Playing getting lost

Wenn ich mit den Ponys umherziehe bin ich gerne planlos unterwegs. Der Bauch sagt mir in welche prinzipielle Richtung es gehen soll und Abzweigungen werden genommen wenn sie interessant aussehen. Letztes Wochenende habe ich über einen Tipp eine völlig neue Gegend erkundet. "Geh über die Bahngleise und folge dem Trampelpfad, dann über die große Strasse und dann bis Du im Wald." Über die Bahngleise und Trampelpfad hatte ich schon mal gemacht, aber hatte den 'falschen' Trampelpfad und endete in einer Sackgasse.

When I stroll around with my Ponys I like to have no plans at all. My stomach tells me which basic direction it should be, but after that turnoffs are taken when they look interesting. Last weekend someone gave me a hint for a new basic direction. "Cross the railway tracks and follow the beaten path, then cross the big street and after that the forest is endless." I did cross the railway tracks once when I was visiting Berlin alone with Pepe. And we also followed a beaten path, but it was a different one which ended in a blind end.

Ich wollte Aufnahmen mit den GoPro's machen und hatte daher zwei Ponys mit Rucksäcken gesattelt. Moritz hatte Essen, Trinken und Kleidung. Pepe war der Techniker und hatte 4 GoPro's im Gepäck und meine Schuhe.

I wanted to make shots with the GoPro and therefor packed two Ponys with backpacks. Moritz was carrying food, drinks and clothes. Pepe was the tech guy with 4 GoPro's and an extra pair of shoes.

Die Gegend ist toll und völlig anders als das was ich bisher im 'halboffenen Wald' erlebt habe. 

The district is beautiful and totally different from what I experienced when I go in the opposite direction, to the are 'halfopen forest'.

Über nicht neben dem Baumstamm ging es entlang was mich überraschte. 

Above the fallen tree instead to go around was astonishing me.

Point war vor mir und klettere über den nicht gerade kleinen Baumstamm. Pepe hinter mir, hörte ich springen und Moritz trödelte hinterher und auch ihn hörte ich nur springen und dann mit dem Kopf wackelnd an mir vorbeitraben. Macht Moritz immer wenn er Spaß hat. Es gab einen gut sichtbaren Trampelpfad drumherum, aber ich denke mal da Point und ich das so vormachten kam der Rest ebenso hinterher. Obwohl Moritz wirklich nicht der Springer ist ...

Point was in front of me and climbed over the tree. It was high and I wondered. Then I just heard Pepe jumping and Moritz as the last also jumped and then trotted with his head shaking past me. He always does this when he has fun. There was a visible path around it, but I think because Point and I did it, the rest just followed. Despite Moritz is really not a jumper ...

Einer hatte immer einer die GoPro auf. Erst Point dann Moritz und zum Schluss Pepe. Und als ich zurück auf dem Hof war konnte ich es nicht fassen, aber zwei GoPro's waren aus Pepe's Rucksack gefallen. Ich hatte ziemliche Probleme mit dem Ding, da man es nicht richtig festschnallen kann, ist nur ein Klettverschluss und der Rucksack rutschte oft zur Seite. Am Ende unser Tour mussten wir auch über ein Feld, wo eine Seite des Rucksacks mehrmals richtig am Boden hing. Ich bin zwar noch zurückgeradelt, aber entweder hat jemand sie gefunden oder sie liegen im Feld. Mein Frust war grenzenlos !!!

Always one was taking a GoPro. First Point, then Moritz and at the end Pepe. When I arrived at the horse pension I found out that I lost two of the GoPro's. Pepe's backpack has only a hook and loop fastener, so you can't really fix it. It often slide to one side and at the end of out tour we had to cross a field and the backpack was hanging several times with one side close to the ground. I cycled back but either someone found them or they are lost in the field. My frustration had no limit !!!

Gestern waren wir wieder unterwegs und ich habe verschiedene Verbesserungen an Pepe's Rucksack ausprobiert.

1. Vorne und hinten sind Riemen mitgeliefert. Die hatte ich weggelassen weil ich sie doof fand. Jetzt sind sie wieder dran.

2. Ein einfacher Deckengurt wird zum Schluss um den ganzen Rucksack gespannt. Nicht fest, aber so das alles etwas mehr halt hat, ich aber noch einfach an die Taschen ran komme.

3. Ich habe keine Satteldecken für Pepe. Also habe ich einen Kopfkissenbezug genommen und ihn gefaltet. Fühlte sich gut an, da ich das Plastik vom Rucksack nicht direkt auf Pepes Fell haben möchte. Der arbeitet sich aber leider durch die Bewegung noch nach hinten raus. Hier gibt es also noch Verbesserungspotential. Der kleine Rucksack von Pepe fühlt sich auch echt billig an, in der Größe hätte ich gerne etwas aus einem schönen festem Leder. Der nächste Schritt ist dann ja gleich der Packsattel, das finde ich für meine kleinen Wanderungen etwas zuviel. 

Yesterday we were on the road again and I tried out several improvements for Pepe's backpack.

1. With the backpack came stripes for the front and the behind. I left them out because I don't liked them, looked stupid. Now I put them on again.

2. A simple surcingle gets around the whole thing. Not tightly, but so the whole things stays in place and I can easily reach in the bags.

3. I don't have saddle blankets for Pepe, so I used a pillowcase and folded it once. Felt good, because I don't want to have the plastic directly on the fur. But the blanket works itself out through the movement. So there is room fro improvement. The little backpack feels cheap. In this size I would like to have something out of a nice and strong leather. The next step is the real packsaddle, but for my small hiking tours I think this would be overdone.

Insgesamt ist das aber mit den Rucksäcken echt cool und macht ungeheuren Spaß.

Altogether I think the backpacks are really cool and it's a lot of fun.
